With a lifelong affinity for animals that traces back to my early childhood, my passion has evolved into a fulfilling profession. I honed my skills while working at the renowned Zoo Wilhelma in Stuttgart, Germany, gaining invaluable insights into the care of exotic animals. Armed with a degree in Biology and a Master’s in Zoology, I embarked on a journey to deepen my understanding of animal well-being.
Driven by a fervent desire to contribute more meaningfully to the lives of animals, I pursued studies in Veterinary medicine, eventually obtaining my license and practicing as a veterinarian for 24 years. For over two decades, I proudly owned and operated a veterinary clinic in Germany, fostering a strong connection with both animals and their caretakers.
As life unfolded, and with my children now grown, I made the life-altering decision to entrust my veterinary practice to capable hands and relocate to the United States alongside my husband. This pivotal moment in my life marked the beginning of a new chapter.
The profound bond I shared with animals received a poignant boost with the loss of Emma, my cherished Mastiff-Mix and soulmate. The grief and heartbreak that followed fueled a deep-seated commitment to helping others navigate the challenging journey of pet companionship.
In 2023, I earned certification as a Pet End-of-Life Doula from the University of Vermont, which paved the way for my role as a compassionate companion animal doula. Leveraging my extensive knowledge in caring for companion animals, I am dedicated to providing support to pets and their caretakers during pivotal life-changing events, health crises, and end-of-life situations, extending my care into the crucial after-care period.
With a wealth of experience and a heartfelt understanding of the unique bonds shared with our animal companions, I am here to guide and support you through every step of your journey with your cherished pets.
